Disclaimer
This
work analyses and sets out procedures for identifying
and dealing with a number of particularly dangerous
and difficult situations which arise in the course
of dealing with fires occurring inside enclosed
structures. The adoption and successful implementation
of any particular procedure depends critically upon
the correct identification of the situation in which
it is to be executed. The advice given in this book
is intended solely for professional fire-fighters
who have been trained in and have experience of
fire fighting in and around such structures. Before
attempting to implement any of the procedures described
in this book a fire fighter must satisfy him/herself
that he/she has the necessary knowledge and expertise
to correctly identify the particular risk with which
he is or may be dealing and that he/she understands
fully the procedure to be adopted. None of the procedures
described in this book should be adopted unless
they have first been practised in a controlled simulation
situation with the appropriate back up support and
assistance. Save where it is not, as a matter of
law, permissible to exclude such liability for any
loss or damage of whatever kind which may be alleged
to have been caused, either directly or indirectly,
by any claimed reliance on any advice given in this
book or as a result of any alleged failure to advise
or other omission in material set out herein.
